CSP Google Apps Calendar
If you primarily use the CSP Webmail Calendar, meaning you access your CSP calendar through the Campus Portal Page, here is what you will need to do to successfully transition your appointments to your new calendar. (More information is found on http://support.csp.edu/Gmail.)

How do I create an event?
You can create an event in a number of ways:
Click and type to create an event.
Click on the day where you'd like to create a new event. If the event spans over an hour, click and drag. Type the title and event time for your new event in the box. Finally, click Create Event to publish the event to your calendar immediately, or click edit event details to add additional information.
Create an event using the "Quick Add" feature.
Click on Quick Add or type the letter Q, then enter your info--[ Dinner in North Beach 8PM Friday ], for instance. For more tips on creating events with the Quick Add feature, please visit What's the Quick Add feature?
Create an event using the "Create Event" link.
Just click on Create Event in the left column of your calendar. This will bring you to a page where you can enter as much information as you'd like about your event. On this page, you can also add guests, change a reminder setting, and publish your event to other users. Once you've entered the appropriate information and selected the desired settings, make sure to click Save.
Create an event from the "Calendars" menu.
Under Calendars in the left column, click on the down-arrow button next to the appropriate calendar. Then, select Create event on this calendar.
Create an event via SMS.
Simply send a text message containing your event's details to the shortcode GVENT (48368). For example, if you send a message with something like "Shopping with Sarah at Monterey Market 5pm Saturday," Google Calendar can figure out what you mean and pop the new event into your calendar.
How do I invite guests to my event?
Google Calendar lets you create invitations for special events, send those invitations to friends, and keep track of responses and comments all in one place. To invite someone to your event, just follow these steps:
- Click on the event and select edit event details.
- In the Guests section, click on Add Guests.
- Enter the email addresses of the guests, separated by commas.
- Click on Save.
- If you'd like to notify your guests of your changes, click Send; if not, click Don't Send.
How do I schedule an event on a resource calendar?
To add an event to a resource calendar, simply include the calendar's name or calendar's email address (depending on your access level) in the Guests field when creating the event.
For example, if you'd like to schedule a "Parent Meeting" on the "Conference Room B" calendar, please follow these steps:
- Click on Create Event.
- Enter the event information such as [ Parent Meeting, Monday, June 25, 2006 at 5 pm ] on the event details page.
- If you're adding an event to a resource calendar that has been shared with you (you're able to view the calendar in your Google Calendar service), type "Conference Room B" in the Guests field and select the "Conference Room B" calendar from the auto-complete list that appears. However, if you're adding an event to a resource calendar that has not been shared with you, enter the calendar's email address in the Guests field. - Click Save and send the invitation.
Please note that if this calendar is set to "Auto-accept invitations that do not conflict," your invitation will be declined if there are conflicting events on the calendar (your resource won't be reserved).
Add a Calendar
On the left hand side of the main calendar page you should click on the add button. You will then have 5 options to choose from:
- Create a new calendar
- Add a public calendar
- Add a friend's calendar
- Type in the person's email address
- Click Add
- The person's calendar should now appear in your list of calendars on the left with a box checked next to it.
- Add by URL
- Import Calendar
You may view the newly added calendar by checking the box just to the left of the calendar's name. If you do not wish to view a calendar you only need to uncheck the box to the left of the calendar's name.
Creating Events on Different Calendars
When you are creating an event and you have multiple calendars, you have the choice of which calendar to create the event on. Simple click on the drop down menu and select the calendar you want it to appear in.
