CSP Wireless Profiles
Concordia has several wireless profiles that are custom configured for our campus. You can download these profiles and have them automatically imported into your Intel PROSet Client, or you can create them manually by following the instructions under Manually Configuring Wireless Profiles (Intel PROSet).

Guest Wireless Network
Concordia provides a guest wireless network that is openly accessible to all wireless enabled devices that are not owned by Concordia. For security purposes this guest network does not provide access to printing and network resources. The Concordia University Help Desk cannot support computers that are non owned by Concordia so it is essential that you become familiar with how to configure wireless to access the guest network on your own.
| Status of computer | Wireless Profile Name (SSID) |

Connecting to cspguest
Concordia University provides limited network access for students, faculty, and staff who are not using University issued laptops. This guide covers how to connect such laptops to Concordia’s open wireless network, cspguest. In order to use this guide you must meet a few requirements. You must have a laptop with a wireless card installed, either internal or external. You must use Windows XP. If you are using another Operating System, please refer to that Operating System’s documentation or your wireless card’s documentation for using wireless.
- Make sure your wireless card is connected to your laptop or that your laptop has a built-in wireless card.
- Turn on your laptop
- Login to Windows (if required)
- Wait for a message to pop up stating: One or more wireless networks are in range of this computer.
- Click on the message itself to see a list of the wireless networks that you can use
- You will see a list of wireless networks in a dialog box.
- Choose cspguest and click on the Connect button. Note: cspguest will be displayed as a Security-enabled wireless network (WPA). You can safely ignore this, and click on the Connect button.
- You may receive the message after clicking on Connect: "Windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be in range. Please refresh the list of available networks and try to connect again."
- Click on the OK button
- You should now see that cspguest is an Unsecured wireless network.
- Click on the Connect button again.
- You will receive the following warning message.
- Click on the Connect Anyway button.
- As you watch your screen you will see the status of cspguest change from Aquiring Network Address to Connected.
Connected to cspguest, but not able to connect
Sometimes a Laptop Not Owned By Concordia says it is conencted, but will not be able to display web pages. If this occurs, one reason may be that it is going through a proxy server. In order to check this:
Go to Tools>Internet Options>Connections
Go into LAN settings
Check Automatically detect settings Uncheck Use proxy server...
You should be able to connect now.
CSP Apartments
This year the apartments are using ComCast for their wireless connections and cable. In each apartment there should be a packet of information on how to properly configure these.
If there is any trouble with these wireless or cable settings, please contact ComCast with any questions.
