Configuring Wireless

Configuring wireless for secured networks can be challenging. It is important to be sure you have all the information from your Internet Service Provider and the manufacturer of your network devices.

How to Add a Profile for a WPA Encrypted Network

  1. Go to Start, All Programs, ThinkVantage, Access Connections.
  2. Click Find
  3. Select your home network.
  4. If your home network has security, you will have to know the pass code and encryption information, if you are unaware you will have to contact your Internet Service Provider(ISP)
  5. If you know your network encryption type and pass code, then simply go to the 4th bullet and click the drop down menu to select your security type.
  6. Then click Properties
  7. Enter in the rest of your network information including your pass code.
    • Note: The encryption key is either configured by your internet service provider or by following the steps in the manual that accompanied your network device.
  8. Click Next and then OK
  9. Allow a few minutes to connect.
