Disable Screen Blinking on R61
There is a nuisance with the new R61 computer, and that is the default battery settings which make the screen flicker or "blink" a lot. This happens especially when you leave the computer idle for a minute or two. Below is the solution to this issue:
- Open ThinkVantage Power Manager (Either by double-clicking on the battery in the task bar or going to Start > All Programs > ThinkVantage > Power Manager)
- If you do not have a custom battery scheme, you will need to create one by clicking New...
- Name it whatever you would like and click Next
- Leave everything the same except change the second option entitled Lower display refresh rate to Never
- Then click Finish and you will experience a "blink-free" laptop screen.
