  1. Select a drive (or leave as is). The letter of the drive doesn't always matter.
    1. Note: When connecting to Banner the drive selected must be S:
  2. Then next to folder put in the name of the network drive they would like to be linked to.
    1. This will be entered as \\server\share
    2. For example if someone would like to link to the share people on the server Samuel you would type \\samuel\people. If you would like to connect to the "S: Drive" the folder is: \\cspfs3012\sct$
  3. Make sure the box is checked for Reconnect at logon, if you would like the computer to link to this everytime you log on. Uncheck the box if this is the only time you plan on logging onto this network drive.

Permissions

In order to access a network drive you must have permissions established to connect to the drive. In order to have permissions granted to access a network share you must speak to the person who is responsible for access to the share.

  • Access to the CGCS share contact the Help Desk.
  • Specific people folders: We need the owner of the folder to request us to send in a work order for Network Services to grant permissions. For example if someone wanted to get into a departmental folder, the department head must contact the Help Desk and ask that the individual be granted permission to this share.
