Outlook To Google (Contacts)

How To Import Outlook Contacts to Google

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Click on File.
  3. Click on Import/Export.
  4. Select Export to a file.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Select your Contacts folder.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Click Browse.
  10. Click Desktop.
  11. Type a name for the file (i.e. mycontacts.csv) into the Filename: field.
  12. Click OK.
  13. Click Next.
  14. Click Finish.
  15. Open an Internet browser (i.e. Firefox, Safari, IE7, etc.)
  16. Log on to your Google Apps account at this Sign-In Page.
  17. Click Contacts.
  18. Click Import.
  19. Click Browse.
  20. Click Desktop.
  21. Select the CSV file that you created in Step 11.
  22. Click Open.
  23. Click Import Contacts.

NOTE: Google Apps reads the CSV file from the bottom up. If one of your contacts fail to import, none of the contacts after that one will be successfully imported. You will need to first delete out that contact from the CSV file using Excel, or remove some of the information from the contact first before attempting to import again. If this happens, and you are unable to import your contacts please contact the Help Desk at helpdesk@csp.edu and they will open a work order for you to get this resolved.
