Requesting a Group in Portal

Groups may be requested using the Request Group tab in Group Studio, or via the on-line group request form.

Student Group Request Approval

  • Undergraduate – Traditional Students: All officially sanctioned groups or other student group requests will be approved by Student Services. There needs to be a faculty or staff leader/sponsor identified with each group to maintain continuity after students graduate. A student, however, can be listed as a co-leader.
  • Cohort requests will be approved by the Lead Academic Cohort Advisor
  • Athletic Groups will be approved by the Assistant Athletic Director.

Employee Group Request Approval

  • Department Groups will be approved by that department’s director
  • Al other employee-based groups will be approved by Human Resources

Faculty Group Request Approval

  • Department Groups will be approved by Department chairs

Once a group has been approved by the appropriate area, the portal administrator will create it. The leader of the group will be notified when the group is created. In most cases group requests will be acted upon within three (3) business days.
