Technology Appeals

Technology appeals give students the opportunity to appeal laptop charges. The Technology Appeals Committee is the committee that determines the outcome of a technology appeal.

The Process

Pre-Technology Appeals Committee

  1. A student needs to return his/her damaged laptop to the Help Desk, who then gives an estimate of the damage costs.
  2. The Techshop receives the laptop and assesses actual damage and costs. These may be higher or lower than the estimate due to current costs for parts. The Techshop will then notify the Bear Center.
  3. The Bear Center will then bill the student for the repair amount.
  4. The student then needs to review the charge added to his/her account.
  5. Finally the student needs to fill out and submit an Appeal Form to Help Desk.

Committee Decisions

After the appeal has been submitted by the student the appeal will go to the Technology Appeals Committee. The committee consists of both CSP IT staff members and Student Senators.

Post-Technology Appeals Committee

Students are notified the outcome of the technology appeals committee by the method the student has selected in the Technology Appeals Form.
