Updating the Student View

Update Student View

Faculty will tend to post handouts, readings, lectures, etc. within their WebCT course. These items are within the Course Material icon seen below:

Unlike other components in WebCT, faculty needs to update the student view in order for the students to view the content. Otherwise, students will receive the following message within the Course Material icon:

The "course designer" is the instructor. If students contact the Help Desk referring to the message above, the Help Desk will not be able to assist them. Rather, they will inform the student that they should forward these instructions to their professor:

  1. Log into the course and then navigate to the Course Material page. Make sure the Designer Options tab is selected.
  2. On the right-hand side, under the Actions menu, click on the button that says, Update Student View.
  3. Then, click on the "Update" button. This will allow any changes that you have made to the course available for your students to view.
