WebCT

What is WebCT?

WebCT is an "online course delivery tool." It acts as a virtual classroom environment or a way to provide extra classroom information, quizzes, or tests.

Technology Breaks

WebCT occasionally takes a 1 week break in order to upgrade computers. These breaks will be prefaced with announcements.

The "WebCT Support Form"

  1. If you are having problems with WebCT, please fill out the WebCT Support Form, located on the myWebCT login page.
  2. Contingent upon the problem you are having, please choose an appropriate Subject line within the form and submit it.
  3. Based upon this Subject line, two things happen:
    • You will receive an automated response based on what problem you are having. For example, if you are having problems with Chat and choose "Chat Room Issue" as the subject, you will receive a response on things that you can do now to resolve their problem. These automated responses contain common resolutions and are a way that Concordia can provide 24-hour support without having someone physically present to assist people.
    • When you submit a form, a copy of the form goes to the WebCT Tier 2 team, and a copy goes to the Help Desk. Any forms with the Subject line of "Password or Login issue" will go directly to the Help Desk.
  4. Every automated response contains the Help Desk e-mail address in the "From" field and contains instructions for the person to respond if the auto-response does not help them resolve their problem. The exception to this rule is if the person chooses "Other" within the Support Form Subject line. That auto-response states that someone (WebCT Tier 2) will get back to them in a timely manner.
